Gas gauge runs backward

Fixed my baffle, had a bad float, a bad F1 fuse and a bad wire. Checked resistance, all was good. Now the gauge goes backward! Switched the pink leads still runs backward and the needle doesn't go back the other way when powered off. I don't know if the needle is supposed to go back as it hasn't worked since I bought the boat. Any ideas out there

Most of the gauges settle back toward "E", but that assumes the system is operating correctly. Disconnect the baffle and see if the gauge returns to "E" when MPEM wakes up. If not, seems the gauge is "backwards" somehow.

Not sure how the baffle could be assembled incorrectly to cause this, seems unlikely.

Weird!! So I figured the gauge is shot so, me being me, I took it apart. Nothing in their serviceable, did some meter test ect ect. Just for shits and giggles I put the needle back on without the gauge face , powered it up and "presto" it starts working correctly!! Now I'm going to Ace to buy some plastic to make a lens..see how it goes.I think when I took it apart I must have reversed the spin of the holes left in spacetime as the electrons changed their energy states due to a repulsive gluionic phase shift caused by my barionic tri-corder. Yea.. that's it!! Cause nothing else on this (&*^&^%% friqin boat has ever made sense. Its all in the manual ya know.. pg 182. help..someone save me. " Yes officer, I have a permit for this handgun" Next post...Widow has Speedster for sale..runs good.

(in the voice of Scotty: "We've got no power Captain, all the crew's been snortin' the dilithium crystals! This is a classic example of unknowingly riding through a worm hole and I'll further speculate this worm hole is located near you on the border of Canada and Mexico and should be avoided in the future if possible. :)

Used seadoo gauges are available from numerous sources and I agree, most difficult to repair due to the construction.

The pooch is dead so I went down and bought a Faria gas gauge for $15 new. Wired it in and worked immediately. 2 weeks later I'm in the Keys and ran out of gas in Tavanier creek, tide rolling out to sea. Gauge was reading 3/4 full, thank god for SeaTow and a good anchor
