Fuse Block replacement...

Reading the 'Speedster Electric' thread below brought to mind a question I have about replacing the fuse block ('00 Challenger 2000).

The left side set of fuses (set 1 of 2) is acting squirrelly. It's losing 4 to 5 volts out of each power lead which means the bilge, blower, horn, running lights and anything else plugged in on that block of fuses don't get a full 12 volts and do not work.

I've switched the power leads and fuses to the other block to test and everything works fine.

So after dealing with the shock of a $471 price plus shipping for a new fuse block, I bit the bullet and am waiting for delivery.

SEADOOSNIPE said in the 'Speedster Electric' thread that the MPEM is in the box below the two fuse blocks. No wonder it's so damn expensive.

So that raised a question about the Lanyard on the Safety Switch. Do the Lanyard Cap and the Safety Switch do their 'handshake' and send a 'go' signal to the MPEM or does the MPEM have to be programmed to accept the lanyard's custom signal?

Is there ANYTHING else I need to consider before replacing the brains of my new doo?

That is a interesting question, if no replies I would try and re-use the mated dess at the connection point of the lanyard. I think I read that they need to be mated, but not to the MPEM...I'm digging for the facts now while on line...let ya know soon I hope.
