Further carnage pics

Finally got a chance to start to take the old blown motor out of my challenger. Got to the intake side and found more little chunks, and a nice little hole blowing OUTWARD from the inside of the engine...

At the top, that is actually a 1/2" tab of metal sticking out into the carb inlet. Hard to see in the pic, but you can see it if you look at the shadows.

Can't wait to pull this thing apart and see what failed on it...

I will post what all went wrong with my engine later tonight.

You were supposed to put Gas in the tank not Dynamite !!!

I still haven't had a chance to tear into it further. Still trying to deal with Ike damage at home and work.

SOMETHING in there let loose and shot out the whole inside of this thing.

Any idea what is in that area that could do it? Maybe a thrown rod?
