Fun factor, new vers old pwc

We are new to pwc this summer (my wife,my son and his wife)

We have a stand up (other brand) and 2, 3 seaters ( other brand)
and our over all favorite my 98 xp (ltd) :hurray:

all skis are old and keep me busy doing maintenance.

my son and I love the challenge of the stand up and the speed and performance of the xp (ltd)

We are fascinated with the new hi powered and crazy fast pwc.

Is there any way in words some one could describe why the new ones are more fun to ride than my 98 xp (ltd)? :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:

I am mostly talking about the fun factor, not how much nicer and better the 4 stroke engines are from the old and dirty 2 strokes.

I don't know, but I think it's something like this.

I can buy my 7 year old a brand new toy.......in one week, it's thrown aside and she wants a brand new one, only a different color.....

So, it's not necessarily faster, or prettier, .........it's just new!

BTW, I saw the new 2009 GTX "IS" model is equipped with a hand brake. Just another new gadget to get buyers...............:cheers:

ya that new gtx is huge. that thing takes the fun out of jet skiing. i think that should be called a jet boat not a jet ski. 14 ft full suspension and brake gees what a ski.

and personally for me the fun factor is more between two stroke and four stroke. so i would have to go with the old because those two strokes are light and quick. might not have the top speed of the 255hp sc seadoos but if your into just throwing it around and jumping i preffer old.

I have a 94 SPX I love. I find it to be more fun vs. paying monthly payments.
