I haven't heard anything bad about fullbore, a buddy of mine used them for a top end rebuild, everything went very well, including the turn around time.

Personally I would use SBT, they're the biggest boys on the block, they have rebuilt motors in stock so you'll get quick turn around. Also the best warranty.

I'm not looking for arguments, this is just my opinion.

I kinda think at this point SBT is a better choice. Fullbore seems to be busy, but that has nothing to do with not meeting customer commitments. I even got in on their winter special. I`m going to call monday and see if they`ll refund[return unserviced engine] minus shipping back to me. I think thats fair at this point.

While I have no experience with SBT's engines. I do question as to why they weld their cranks. The only times I've done this is on a full open mod spinning 10,000+. If the journal specs and phasing are correct there is no need to weld the avg use engine.

I'm not defending anyone... but it's spring time, and I'm sure they are swamped with engines that were bad last fall, and people are just getting them pulled from their ski's now.

I just sent out a Merc crank to be welded... and it's going to be at least 3 weeks. If I would have sent it 2 months ago... it would have been a week.

I think Dan at Fullbore is busy,he told me four to six weeks. Than eight weeks. We are going into week nine, somethings going to have to give here, March was a long time ago. Still believe F-bore is good but I don`t have the time for it. We`ll see on monday!

Sorry, I didn't understand the question when you first posted, I didn't realize that you had already sent your motor to fullbore. Considering that they already have your motor you might as well sit it out. Fullbore is a good company.

With this Merc project of mine... I'm setting up to machine cyl's. I was going to send my block out to be sleeved, and then I thought... I own an $80k mill. I should be able to bore and sleeve it myself.
