I've got a 95 Speedster and have had an issue with fueling problems. The fuel lines have been replaced by the previous owner. The sending unit was not working, so I pulled it apart. I noticed that the fuel lines were not installed as pr the shop manual. My on and reserve run from the sending unit, to the selector switches. On and reserve split, (or t off) and one of each attach to the two selector switches. Then the line out goes to the fuel filter. From the fuel filter to the intake side of the carb. Both return lines return to the sending unit. One to the return and one to the vent in the top of the sending unit??? I understand the return point, but to the vent nipple? Does that sound correct??? Should the return be t'd off and both return lines to that point? Sorry if so confusing and thanks for looking.

Boy that doesn't show it that way in the shop manual. Where does the vent line from the sending unit vent to?

My bad sorry. Parts drawings look to me as both return lines go to send unit, separate. Tank itself has a separate vent connection.
