Sending unit float sank. Can't get new one earliest next week . Drilled hole in it . Like a fuel soaked foam inside. Put it in toaster oven 180F for a couple hours smells like rich mixture . But now it floats. Will seal it up with fuel resistant sealer. Any suggestions? Probably use gas tank epoxy. Have jb weld marine . Not sure if it's fuel resistant . Hopefully it will stay afloat till new one arrives

Personally I wouldn't bother, just use the boat without a fuel gauge, you have reserve.

I've put my bowling ball in the oven at low temps to remove oil but putting a float soaked in gas into a toaster oven.....I'm glad you still have your house after that. :)

SDB, I hope you are using an approved API-TC oil in that bowling ball so it doesn't get all gummed up.
