I'm having issues with my fuel gauge on my 1995 Sea-Doo XP an am wanting to know what I have for options and what others think of my ideas. The gauge works but not always correctly I think some of the reed switches are sticking cuz it sometimes takes hitting some bumps after its full for the gauge to read more than 3/4 and as you empty the tank it dose not go back down in a liner way it stays at full a long time before dropping to about 5/8. I have not found a new fuel sender for sale #275500186 and am not really wanting another used sensor as I have already put a used sensor in it, it did work correctly for a while. I see my options as follows.
1) Install another used sender and hope it lasts.
2) Carefully remove the circuit board from the sender by scraping out the glue/potting on the top and undoing the nuts that hold it in then solder new reed switches to the board and reassemble.
3) Install a conventual boat style sender in the tank by drilling a hole in the top, Installing a backing plate in the tank to screw the sender to and install a new sender ether a custom calibrated sender, a programable sender, or adapt the gauge wiring to read a standard boat sender. I will list the parts I am looking at to do this:
Tank backing plate: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...TRQm5qTG1bIGJgXG3Dl-7K_6jek_gE8hoCjc8QAvD_BwE
Custom calibrated senders are available from Kuss: SSS/SSL Sender - SAE 5 Hole Pattern Mount Level Sender | KUS Americas, Inc.
Custom calibrated senders also available from Isspro: RA9508-ISS-LP
Programable senders are availalbe from Holley: https://www.holley.com/products/gau...hrrR3XTMQoKxRqT6ab9eJpjJcd4atPZhoCrnEQAvD_BwE
Or a conventual ohm range boat sender adapted to work by configuring the wiring to work as shown here: Aftermarket fuel sender 240-33 ohm install
4) Dose anyone else have any better ideas?
Thanks
