So I fell victim to the insert on the rail coming out . This happened after fogging last year and my thought was I would tackle when I dragged it out of storage.

I know for certain that the bolt is not stripped. I can feel the insert spinning but can't get a strong enough bite on that plastic housing to start threading the bolt out. I've tried anything and everything and I can get it out. I know the rail is secure and isn't going anywhere. My question is the season is upon us. At this point is there any reason I should not just use the boat as is and put this off till the end of the year. No harm no foul other than this bleeping insert won't come out.

Any other tips or tricks you've used to coax it outta there.

If you pull on the fuel rail then bolt and insert should come out together (other rail bolt removed). Then remove insert from bolt. Apply a small amount of JB weld 2 part expoxy to the outside of the insert and reinstall into plenum. Be careful not to get any epoxy on the insert threads. It worked for me.

So I finally got around to this. Since it was snug I didn't want to lose any time during the season. We are in Michigan and there aren't too many warm weekends left. Got it home today after being on it all day and thought I'd give it a try. Popped right out of the rail with the other screw out. I think with it being hot in the engine compartment made the difference.

So I used an epoxy and tapped it back into the hole. I put it back in storage until I get back from a business trip on Thursday. I can can't see it not working once the epoxy cures.
