Can the fuel lines and carb fuel filters be cleaned/replaced without removing the engine in my '96 GTX?

Karl I think me was asking if the whole motor needs to be removed or if you just remove the carbs? Right bz1mcr. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can its just tricky to get to the bolts that hold the carbs on.

It is easier to remove the carbs in like 15 minutes than removing the engine...I have done carbs dockside, with the seadoo in the water...

Hey karl what's the best tool to use. Just a wrench or a small socket. I need to do this to my two Doo's and would like to know what your experience with this is.

Thanks James

Wow, that is great news! But it took me over 15 min to remove the air box so I could even see the carbs. What does it take to get them out?

15min no prob in boat, ski...WAY less room..bz1, if its the XP w/ 717, then shouldnt be difficult, the gtx, darn stud, need to pull the exhaust, if not, might need anger mgmt afterward...:banghead:

It is the GTX--It would be. So, once the exhaust is pulled you can get to the carbs to replace the lines and clean the carb filters? Do you need to pull the carbs to clean the filters?
Don

yah, and be saver, chief...drop that or anything in that matter, done...ski, somehow just swallows up that crap...

can you run a bottle of carb cleaner in a tank of gas to clean out the carbs on a 2 stroke? or is this not recommended?
