Fuel gauge reads empty but alarm still goes off, maybe it's just the gauge?

Been like this since I got the boat. When I start the engines, about 10 seconds later the low fuel alarm goes off, I hit the button, and I'm good to go. I read that since the alarm is still functioning, it may just be the gauge. My RPM gauges, and speedometer, also do not work..

I picked up a generic gauge asap since I have a big trip Sunday, yet I didn't realize the seadoo gauges had a harness clip..

The generic reads S G I and L on the back, and I can't seem to find the wire color meaning for seadoo harness... Though I'm not going to attempt to rig these together if it's not the gauge.. Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm a bit lost.

Probably not the gauge, more then likely its a bad float or the internal F1 fuse inside the fuel baffle. Its a common fix on a Seadoo. There are lotsa threads on the forum of how to trouble shoot it..

OEM fuel floats go bad all the time. The updated design is much better and cheap to buy.

Well I was originally going by this thread here: http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?55179-Fuel-Gauge-vs-Low-Fuel-Alarm&highlight=fuel

as far as I know... you only have one sender. So... if the low fuel alarm works... that would say to me... that the gauge is bad.

Yeah i agree with doc. If you are still getting the low fuel alarm, the problem isnt in the tank.

I'm not quite sure how to test to see if it's the gauge vs float still.. if anyone could give more specific instructions for a novice

I'd gladly just rig up this generic gauge anyway, yet I also cant seem to find a wiring diagram for the original fuel gauge.

I would open up the sender, operate the float by hand and see what the dash gauge and the alarm do.

Or, take the float out. Drop it in a cup of gasoline and be amazed how it sinks to the bottom instantly! Then try it in a cup of water and see how it floats instantly!
