Fuel gauge not working

I have a 97 Sea-Doo GTI that I just purchased and the fuel gauge does not work. Is this a simple fix?

Do you have a digital fuel gauge, or an old manual one with a needle?

It is a manual with a needle.

Check the baffel sending unit in the fuel tank.

The Baffel in the fuel tank looks like a float (and I guess it is). It will detoriate and break into thus losing contact. It is fairly expensive for what it does - around $125 but easy to replace if important to you.
