This past Saturday I took my 97 GTS out on the lake and the fuel gauge was not responding or giving me wrong readings, when I would accelerate the needle would fluctuate from empty to full. Today when I got home I worked on it I unplugged the connectors and plugged them back it, now when the boat is running it states that there is a full tank also the oil light is on. (the gas tank is almost empty, and oil tank is full) I have not ran on the lake yet this is all done in my back yard/garden hose tests. Do I need a new gauge or a new fuel sending unit...

Please Help

There are some test you can do for that using a multimeter.
To check baffle, remove baffle disconnect PINK/BLACK and PINK wires, check resistance allowing the float to move up and down.
To check gauge, same thing, disconnect gauge and test with multimeter and measure resistance.
Also check the float in the baffle and make sure it floats. Check to see if the magnets need cleaning or maybe fallen off.

can u send me instruction on doing this (readings, where to look, stuff like that) I have a multimeter but I don't know how to us it like what setting ot put it on...

You can get a shop manual here for $10. It will show you everything you'll ever wanna know about your seadoo.
Put the meter on ohms (Ω). I'm not really familiar with your model. You probally gotta slide the tank up to get to the baffle.

remove the little plastic push clips that hold the glove box bucket in. the fuel sender is just below. Pulls right out:) No need to remove the fuel tank. Seadoo designed the glove box on the GT series 3 seaters to allow removal of the fuel sender easy.;)

as mentioned above^, read the troublehooting how to
