Hello together,
Does somebody have already installed a Faria Fuel Manager in a 150 Speedster 155Hp? I bought the FFM024 and I would like to install it in the next days and I’m looking for some useful hints. The original fuel gauge is more like a magic crystal ball and since I mostly drive on a river with about 4-5 miles current it might be good to know how many gas has been left in the tank.
And a second question! Does somebody have installed an automatic fire extinguisher in the engine compartment? The original Seadoo extinguisher is just an alibi (or more a joke) because it’s too small and in case of a fire in your engine compartment you have to open the engine cover and then you feed the fire with fresh air. That’s the reason for thinking to install the automatic extinguisher. Any experience from you guys?

On my Speedster I use to open the engine compartment and looked at the tank to see how much fuel left. My gauge was still showing a full tank when I had a half. Later on it was fixed under the warranty, but I never trusted it.

On latest Yamaha boats they use fire extinguisher port to the engine compartment. In that case you don't need to open the compartment. In Sea-Doo service manual they say that there is an automatic fire extinguisher in CE models .

On my other boat (2 stroke Mercury Force 120) I installed the lowrance fuel sensor with a nmea 2000 network. It was depressing as I found I would run 12 GPH at 12 MPH (once I clean the outside maybe 18 mph). Hence a very expensive boat to operate. The best advice is to find the fuel filter in your fuel circuit and mount the sensor just past that. I am hoping my Sea Doo does a lot better in terms of fuel economy.

nice, i live in switzerland but by dealer is Jet-team in Lichtenau.

you get the best deal on a automatic extinguisher at compass24.de, they have 2kg ones witch i would recomend.

if you have a CE certified boat you need a automatic one.

i know segelladen.de has a 2kg automatic one but its way to big.

Hi Patrick,
My 150 Speedster was running a couple of years near Berlin and it has a CE label at the hull but it is equipped with the 2Kg manual extinguisher only. At compass24.de I didn’t find an automatic extinguisher with gas (FM200). They have only the powder or foam versions which I don’t want use for the engine compartment.
Where do you drive? In the Bieler / Neuchateler lake? Are there some good ramps which are public with good places for parking the car and trailer? Or do you know some marinas where I can drop the boat for a reasonable price into the water? I know already that I need to register the boat at the sea-police. I just curious if there are good ramps which it makes worth to spend this effort.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Ingo

It’s done! I’ve installed the FARIA fuel flow manager and it works just fine. Most tricky thing was to find a place for the gauge, so I had to change the dash. In the next time I will check the accuracy of the flow manager but currently it shows up reasonable values. Speed at a choppy day with lots of wind approx. 35 miles/hour and fuel consumption 5.3 to 5.5 gallon/hour. I didn’t check the flow at wot since it was really too windy!

Hi, just today I was on the lovely river Rhein again and we drove a couple of miles. We did 48 miles/hour at WOT and fuel flow was 9 gallons/hour. Our boat is the 155HP Speedster 150...
