Hey guys, while learning how to be mechanical today I noticed the grey fuel line issue. Except the only place I have the grey lines is from the fuel pump (?) to the back of the carb. I thought I did not have grey lines but seen this today and think it is a fuel line. I figure I will just get some black 1/4 tube and switch it out. I also want to change the fuel filters since I have no idea last time they were changed but couldn't find them for sale in the warehouse. Where can I get these or can I get something from a local auto parts store?

Before I even ask later on, where can I also get oil filters also?

Thanks

Read the thread from Dr Honda in the "how to tech articles" section on the home page, just scroll down until you see it.

In-line Oil filters are an OEM part only. Auto part store won't sell anything similar that works. Good idea to change it....about $13 at the dealership.

is it the 1/4" line that is about 12-13" long and goes from the diaphram to a nipple that is straight up and down, back in behind carbs? if so it is either the vent line or the pulse line. those were the only grey lines remaining on my boat and when i replaced them i cut into them and didn't have any of the green gunk that you can see in so many pictures on several posts here.

A Fram G-2 or G-12 should work for the fuel filter and you don't even have to go to the auto parts store they have them at WalMart. Like we say in KY, probably TN also, "if Walmart doesn't have it you don't need it".

Walmart doesn't have the oil filters so I guess you don't need them. Seriously click on "PARTS" top of the page you can order them from Riva Motorsports I think they're about 8.00 but they charge serious freight so like SDB said you might be better off getting them from your dealer.

I will get the oil filters through the dealership then.
Would it be safe to just leave the grey lines since its the vent/pulse line?

Mr Loudoo, you are correct if Walmart don't have it we don't need it! I'm fact that is my auto parts store...LoL

Do must people just replace the old fuel filter with these? Meaning can I take out the factory fuel filter and in its place put a Fram? Or should I add it somewhere else down the line?

Thanks for all the help

I want to make sure we're on the same page, we're talking about part no. 30, the inline fuel filter.

I would just replace the stock filter with the Fram filter, the stock filters are no longer available anyway.

Here's something else we have in common. In Ky you never hear the expression "duck tape won't fix that".

If you get time come over and visit us at the ask Jake, Lou and Criss thread sometime, it's in the off-topic section.

Yea those were the two I am going to replace. Just nit sure when they were replaced last.

The other half of your comment should be about just spray wd 40 on it.

I will roll over to the section and check it out...

Thanks

the fram G12's are what I just ordered (too lazy to drive, only $10 shipped for 2 of these)
