Fuel and Oil Line Question.

I have a 95 GTX.

I'm about to pick up some fuel and oil lines. So I want to be sure to get the right thing.

20' of 1/4" for fuel
and
?' of 3/32" for oil

Also it seems there are 3 lines running to the engine. 1 with an in line filter and an easy spot to get to. The other two seem to be in terrible spots to get to. Do they all need replaced or just one with filter?

weird...I thought I answered this...

You got the sizes and lengths right.

On the lines...take the two 13mm bolts out of the steering cable bracket, and cut all the zipties. With that out of the way, you can take the fuel selector, filter, and all the lines out all in one piece. Just pull the lines off the pickup...they will slide right off. Clean the selector and filter out and replace the lines. I take a paint marker and mark the on and res lines. Then, put it all back in in one piece. I use good zipties instead of clamps.

I think someone else had a thread similar. My GF's dad works for Sea Doo, so he actually picked up some scrap pieces of fuel line. He said he got me around 25' and also zip ties and a couple types of hose clamps.

So now I guess all I need is oil injection lines. Do I only need to replace the the line with the in-line filter? I noticed there are two other lines that are larger in thickness, do they need replaced also? I was just wondering if I should figure out a way to drain the oil tank, replace whatever lines I need to replace there, and refill with some fresh.

The little lines are the ones needing replacement...and the filter. The only thing that may need to be done on the big lines is to clip them if they leak and reattach.

Looks like there isn't anywhere around here that's going to sell lines I can get for the oil. I'm assuming I could get a line for like diesel fuel and it would work okay to run oil through?

I wanted to post this to help others in the future. I'm not sure how fuel line set-up changes from ski to ski, but here was the set up on my 95 GTX.

(arrows specify flow directions of fuel, not really necessary)

I drew this on paper while I was doing the swap so I wouldn't forget where lines went.

Also, a few tips to help other out.

1) Prop Ski up nose high.
2) Remove to 13mm bolts holding steering bracket on.
3) Remove filler neck from tank side. (I went ahead and taped hole up to keep slosh from spilling.)
4) Remove 3 straps from tank, and move tank forward in ski. (Bungee cord the oil tank up to not leave it hanging, also unplug electrical connection that goes to fuel pump)

Once I had the tank up in the front compartment the switch went flawless.

I also have one last question. After re-doing fuel lines, does everyone pressure check the fuel system as specified in the shop manual?

totally forgot about the filler...yup getting that out of the way helps too.

I have never done a pressure check.

3/32" on the oil line is not correct I don't believe. I ordered the line and went to replace it today and it's wayy to small. The line I pulled of seems to have an ID between 1/8" and 1/4" which is quite a bit larger than 3/32". Looks like this project will be put off even more now. I'm guessing somewhere along the way information got mixed up. I have seen many people post 3/32", but I actually think it should be 3/16". Can someone confirm this before I order more line.

That sounds around the right ball park. It's not a big deal as far as wasted money. I spent 3 bucks at most for 2 ft of 3/32" line. I see 3/32" being advertised everywhere so just trying to clear the water. 5/32" and 3/16" have a difference of .03125" so I'm guessing either probably will work fine. I ordered a WSM in-line filter and it seems it has around a 3/16" ID, so I may just go ahead with the 3/16".

It is straight with The injection supply line thats white zip tied, a hex plug, just to lrft of the tie.

Its a common trend on the '95 GTX to replace the fuel line (20' x 1/4"id) except from the two check valves to the two thru-hull connectors every five years, the two large 1/2"id and one medium 5/16"id oil lines from the oil tank every 8 years, and the oil filter 5/16" every two years, and the two 3/32"id x 6 1/2" long oil lines from the two oil injection pump barbs to the two cylinder rotary cover tube spigots every TWO years (or less). We recommend BRP mineral two stroke oil or the Rave Valve engine oil = BRP XPS Synthetic (a better blend) for longest
crankseal & engine life.

Thanks, I was looking at those little lines wondering about replacing them. I have the oil injection line back on, but haven't filled the tank up yet. I may check into switching those out also.
