I've decided to let my 96 XP go...
The ski is in EXCELLENT cosmetic condition, the paint and decals are bright, the plastic is not faded, there are minimal light scuffs on the hull, no cracked gelcoat (amazing condition for a 1996).
Here's the catch:
The crank case center seals are no good, and oil is entering the cylinders. We haven't gotten it to start this season, since oil keeps seeping in and locking it up. The engine turns over freely with the plugs out and has good compression.
The VTS is no longer functioning, I hear relays clicking when I press the buttons, but haven't looked into it any further since it never got on the water this season and I won't be repairing it.
Other than that, this ski ran so well last year I'm seriously not happy about selling...but I have decided to forego repairing it at this time. (don't have the money, and rather not store it this winter)
Freshwater ski, only seen salt a couple times with the previous owner when on vacation, I always cleaned and flushed after each ride (even lake rides), and you can tell the previous owner did too. Always fully winterized.
Recent work (within 2 years) includes: carbs rebuilt, fuel lines replaced, RAVE valves cleaned, fuel gauge sending unit repaired (still intact not all cut up), repair of leaking freeze plug on exhaust.
I don't have a trailer to sell with it. It'll come with its original cover (similar to the one seen behind it on the GTX), DESS key, fire extinguisher, hose adapter and tool kit. The ski has a Tony Doukas Racing (TDR) waterbox but also comes with the OEM waterbox which is perfect as well. As seen, the stock yellow seat is has been replaced with a Hydro-Turf seat in black.
Asking $800 OBO. This is a chance to get a really great fast and fun ski with some work required to get it back to 100% (or you can part out). I would like to see this gone within a few weeks, but serious offers only please.
Will arrange a pick up in NYC metro area. Located in Westchester County, NY.
