Front storage compartment wiring??

Ok so i'm done replacing my old bottom half of my front storage compartment as the old one tore off the hinge and i'm ready to put it back in its spot but there is no way the connectors will fit in the 1/2" hole in the lid and i cant seem to take the wires out of the connectors!?!!? Any ideas on how to remove them quickly? Or is tis a case of cuttin wires and reconnecting with wire unions??

The wiring is run through the rubber protection grommets and then the pins and connector ends are installed to complete the harness. All you need to do is unlock the tabs on the pins from the supply side connectors to pull them back through the holes.
