Sold my 97 sportster last summer, had fun in it but it was a tad slow

Found a clean 97 Speedster that needed some work and thought I'd see what having another engine will feel like

Will post more pics as I work on it

One engine needs a rebuild, I got a good used one cheap from a local, so I'll be rebuilding the 3rd for a spare.
Seats are ok, might let them go one more season
Needs a good clean and buff to bring it back to life
Hydroturf and a new radio a little later

I'm a fan of sonys that have a real eq, not just bass and treble+ pop rock and jazz. The sony mex-m70bt is a good one and they make mex-m100bt wich has 100 watts built in if external amps arnt your thing. Both of these have a 10 band eq, older sonys have eq7, I'd skip any thing lesson than eq7. Ive also had good luck with the polk audio db series speakers, sound good and last forever, my pops are going on 10 years old in his nautique.

Ill take that ski pole if you dont want it

Those seats are as nice as they come. Nicest ones of that style Ive ever seen.

Im just here to figure out what boat you needed the hood shocks for....lol

Nice... you'll love the twins compared to the single ... make sure you keep us all updated on the restoration ... if you need some inspiration look at cncsignman on here his restoration was a beauty

Rebuilt crank in the second engine

Hope to have everything buttoned up soon
Hydro-turf should come in this week, hopefully lake test in a few weeks

Thanks man, slowly coming along, added VTS to my HX also. So ready to test all the new things out.

New tow vehicle got some Seadoo treatment

Im trying to figure out what to do with the cross bar that ties the nozzles together and add dual vts to my challenger

Tabs are my last resort. The only thing i cant figure out is the cross bar and I found these last night but they are for the tie bar on twin stern drives and I have a feeling they are bigger than they look

Sez the female threades are 5/8-18 so im not sure, I need to email them and find out.

Now that sounds a little tougher, what about trim tabs like bigger boats use?

Trim tabs on the speedster can be done. the best way I found on the dual jet drive boats is one tab in the middle. The company I used sold just the one trim tab but you had to call in your order to get it.

Made a huge difference on ride in choppy water and acceleration and didn't mess with reverse and still let me do the fun 360s

I both did this project and posted it on Sea-Doo forum last year.

Ready for a test start this weekend
Any recommendations for battery? Do I need to pull the pipe to get the battery in? The old one is large, was thinking to move the battery tray

Anyone know how much adjustment there is in the shifter?
I'm not getting the full engagement of the reverse buckets when I shift into forward

All the way forward

Without cable attached to reverse bucket, locked in

Boat looks good. I'd lose the SBT decal, total drawback for such a nice looking boat.

Here's the best place for those SBT decals.
