I bought a WetJet last year, but someone put a 580 in it, 91GT engine, from what I can tell. I kind of just put it together from the pieces that were sitting in the bottom of it and didn't know enough about 2-Strokes to ask questions along that ride. This year I bought a 93 SPX and learned a ton more..... so on to my question....
I was having fuel/vacuum/bogging issues randomly last year with the WetJet so I just pulled the head off (looking for possible lean issues) and noticed the pistons are marked 050 and when I measured the tops of the cylinders, they both read 76.50mm. Isn't 050 supposed to be 1.2mm over? Or does it sometimes mean .5mm over?
The other question was, do these gaps look too big in the piston rings? Wondering if the last owner had the wrong size rings installed. My compression is only about 130, so I wanted to get that all fixed up this year and new rings/pistons were on the potential shopping list.
