forgot plugs

I just bought a 3 seater seadoo bombardier 1998 from a good friend. I took it out yesterday and forgot the plugs out stopped to eat at a friends camp and notices it was taking on water... would not crank. Was able to hook it to a boat and tow it to get water out. Got it home... read some post here on this forum about removing the spark plugs and tunring it to see if water comes out and sure enough it shot water out all over the place. I continued to do this a few times adding wd40 between each time i would turn it just for a few seconds. Put a little gas in the spark plug holes and was able to get the doo to crank up. It did spit out a bit of water from what I assume the exhauset but possibly engine(rear near the jet)). I then got it hooked up to a hose cranked it let it run for a few. It now seems to be fine. Starts up just fine and seems to be running ok on the trailor. My question is what next... am i good is there something else I need to do?

PS IT WAS FRESH WATER THANG GOODNESS.

I always worry about forgetting the plug too. What I do is to make sure the plug is back in before you put it away for the night. That way, on your next trip, you already have the plug in.

Oh dont worry I can preety much promise it wont happen again... after yesterday

was a rough day.. picture me hanging on the back of the seadoo while being pulled by a boat to get water out and then trying to close off the plugs while still moving all the while LOL... not to mention it rolled a couple times in the event!!! needless to say I am sore today

My worry is that I will have a next time wiuth no major issues

yeah, you did right, get'n out the water, i'd put little premix oil in tank, run it rich so oil has time to re-soak the bottom end...my 3 buks..

Man,, When you "pull by a boat" forces water just like you have a hose on,We hope
you pinched off the line from the jet-pump! run-ride the ski for at least an hour to rid
the crankcase of moisture, or it could rust-ruin the crank bearings. You'll need to
ride hard and make alot of turns to get all the water out of case. ENJOY!

I agree with adding oil in the gas for alittle extra lubrication till all the moisture is gone.........

Nah man I had no time for nothing nor did I know much about a seadoo to know I should have done that. It was just a pure react thing to keep it from the bottom of the river.

The weather has gotten cold here and will be for a couple days. Is it ok if I don't get to take it out for a few. I can still continue to hook it to a hose and run it for a few mins until i take it to ride

yeah stud, since its fired and idling..etc, your good, maybe what me and FastBoat mentioned, throw some premix to gas tank, help lube crank assy up, but your good to go.

Will do... thanks alot fellas without this forum I woulda been screwed... Just by searching around I found enough info to get it running, and whie I am mechanically inclined I knew and pretty much still know nothing about these watercrafts.... Something going wrong sure makes you learn.

OK this may be a dumb question... but as for "premix" am I mixing oil and gas and adding it to the gas tank? If so how much.... Or is there a premade bottle of something I need to just add to the tank?

Yip. Just regular ol 2 cycle premix. Just add it right to your tank. Not too much though. I'd say probly somthing like 200:1. Its gona smoke like crazy and you may even foul a plug. But after you run it awhile you can add more gas to dilute it.

I would probably run alittle more oil than 200:1... Just my .02 And you will probably foul a plug like he ^ said.

I did the same thing today. LOL I just got done replacing my old grey fuel lines and replacing my oil injector lines cause they were cracked. So i took it out for a test run today. At first it ran awesome! Then just at top end it started missing. I didnt know what was wrong. So went back to the boat dock and took seat off and there was about 6 inches of water in there. Could i had sucked some water up in my intake and it fouled my plugs? If so what do i need to do?

Were you in saltwater? Ist, remove the rear plug and tilt the trailor tounge
as high as you can, and open front hood remove can, and rinse from front to rear.
Common maintanence, pump grease into pto & drive nipple to keep water out of
the hull from the drive chamber. Use an ohm digital meter and check the stator
out-put. Do the fuel system purge/leak test. I suspect a faulty selector valve
Before you attemt starting, check compression, each cylinder, as you could have
damaged one driveng back in a lean condition. Let us know.
