ok so I finally got the engine pulled and my crankshaft is shot you guy's were right, off for rebuild:facepalm: anyway I got the pto off and the flywheel nut but the flywheel wont budge and is frozen I put the universal puller on it and was using an impact wrench but its not moving. can heat be applied or will that ruin the magnito? I will also let it sit overnight with pb blaster and a little bit of tension. thanks

I use a heat gun when needed. A torch can be a little extreme.

Put it directing onto the end of the crank, and let it get hot. As it cools, any rust will crack. Then, try it again with the puller. Also... put some grease on the threads, and snout of the puller. When the going gets rough... I use an IR Thundergun. (800 Lb-ft torque) Sometimes a regular impact can bog down, and may not give a real good hit.

What engine is this? a 657? (from the 95 in your signature?)

With other items, I have had a wet rag ready. Once it gets nice and hot, I touch the rag to the area and the rapid change breaks the rust free pretty well.

I have done this hundreds of times while torching or heating studs in exhaust and what not.

Ok thanks,I think the crapy impact gun at the shop isn't cutting it either might have to break down and buy a good one.

It's the 657x
