flywheel on a 96 xp

I am looking at a flywheel that came off a 97 gsx 787/800 part # 290966442
and i was wondering if it would fit on my 96 xp? The part # for the flywheel on my xp is 290966441 one number off. Is it going to make any difference?

It will work. All 787 engines with carbs use the same flywheel. Just make sure the flywheel is black. the early ones that aren't black (95-96) would chip the teeth off and damage your stator.
