Drainage plugs were left open on the ski for about 10 minutes of use, then we beached her and let the 6 inches of water drain from the engine bay. Cleaned the inside out with fresh water then dried her, removed a hose on the exhaust system and alot of water drained out of it, turn the ignition and she tries but she wont kick over... what can I do????

I had the same thing happen once:rofl: My friend took it off the trailer with the plugs out... In the 5 minutes that I was parking the trailer, it took on enough water to cover most of the engine..

My problem was solved by simply pulling the spark plugs and drying/cleaning them. You might have a different problem as you didn't take on as much water, but I would give that a try first in case the engine ingested some.

6 inches of water shouldn't hurt the plugs but you can clean and dry them.I would check for spark incase something got wet....i have seen them fill up to the plugs and still run....good luck and let us know how you make out....

My 4 yr old daughter decided our 2 stroke 4-wheeler needed a bunch of water in the exhaust pipe. She put the hose to it, and filled it.

I found it locked up, due to the water.

I asked questions, and learned enough to

Pull the plug,
Turn the motor over
Out came the water
There was water in the crank case, that kept coming out.
Crank it a while, and eventually put the plugs back.
Then, it ran ok, no permanent damage. Motor was cold when she decided to fill it with water!

Hope this may help

Nate

we have done the same thing to ours more than once. yours will be fine. I'd remove the spark plugs and check for water inside the engine if there is turn it over until the water stopps spraying out of the spark plug wholes. than get some of the sea doo oil and pour a cap full into the engine where the spark plugs came out turn it over a few more times to re lubricate the engine. finnaly put two new spark plugs in the turn it over make sure to give it time. IT'll start.

Yes..............

:agree: and give it plenty of time. The engine will not fire the cylinders until the ratio of fuel to water is greater in fuel...........so, be patient. It will fire.

Yes you can get this running again. It's happened to me and it will come back.

Make sure to let the starter get a break periodically and if needed, charge the battery.....but don't give up!
