Fix Scratches before selling?

Howdy folks. I am trying to figure out if I should bother addressing some rough scratches on the hull of my 2012 GTI 155 before listing it for sale. The scratches came from a rubber clip on a cheap dock line breaking, allowing the ski to bang up against a dock for a while before it was noticed. I don’t have any experience repairing gel coats or fiberglass.

It has 154 hours and I generally think the ski looks great for its age other than the dock scratches on the gel coat, decals and rubber ring between hull pieces. I wasn’t sure how much this would affect what I could get out of a 12 year old ski.

My opinion… leave it as is. I doubt you would get your money back on what you spend to repair. Most buyers will focus more on the maintenance and mechanical condition than the cosmetics on an older ski. And a poor repair will appear like you are hiding something.

I will advise you to leave it that way, as long as it remains in a good condition, buyers won't care..
