Only if it was VERY low. But if that was a prob... then MPEM would shut down, and it would stop cranking.


If it's an 800 engine... check the pick-up coil. They have a tendency of breaking loose of the mount. You will have to remove the MAG cover to see it.
 
how/what did you do, to "fix" timing? What was the original problem/symptoms?
 
the person the had the boat b4 me put 1 new engine in it but put the rotary valve 180 degress off.. there was no suction on the fuel line and if you poured gas in to the carb it would spit it out so seeing its a new engine thats the only thing i could think it could be and i was right 146.5 -46.5
