I recently came across 2 1995 Seadoo XP's for sale, and am in the process of purchasing. I've never owned one before, let alone 2. The package includes a dual galvanized trailer (all titled). They were weathered from sitting out in the elements for a few years, so I know I will probably need to do some work to them. One needs a motor mount, or an engine mount plate. Something like that, and the other needs a throttle cable. Also, the steering cover and the front cowling where the mirrors are, are VERY faded. What can I do to brighten them up? I would also like to know if there is a difference between the 2, as one of them has a sort of racing style seat, and the other just has a "Plain Jane" seat on it.I would think the first thing I need to do is empty the fluids, flush the gas tank, the oil, rebuild the carbs change the fuel lines, and check the pump oil. What other things should I do before attempting to bring them to the water, and what can any owners of the XP tell me about them that would help me out like the pros and cons? I'm a bigger guy (290) and I'm wondering if I possibly exceed the weight limit on these things? Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated!!

If you have Grey Tempo fuel lines, nothing else matters just yet. They are engine killers as they force a Lean condition and the pistons will eat themselves. You need to replace the lines, pull and rebuild the carbs and internal filters using OEM gaskets, replace the needle and seat as well as the fuel selector. Also, do NOT replace the pop off springs even though new springs will come with the carb rebuild kit. They are almost always wrong.

Use ONLY an OEM kit as the aftermarket are to stiff and it will never run right.

Replace the fuel selector as well.

The fuel and carbs were automatically first on my list. I will do a full rebuild of them and change all that can be changed out in them. I will make not sure to not change the springs. I did not know that thank you!! for anything engine or carb related I would almost ALWAYS go OEM anyway. It may cost more, but its just easier to go OEM. I havent picked them up just yet. Ill be picking them up in 60 days. I do however get to go check them out. The woman said they run and that even though they look rough from sitting outside, they have REALLY low miles on them. Does the XP have an hour dial on it where I can find out?

I'll be honest, 290 is probably pushing it on an X4, especially if you fall off (half the fun.)
At the very least, you may want to look at adding a boarding step..

Ok, you have the 95' XP 720's. Those are fun skis with a great reliable 720 engine.
