My rope ski floats too, my tube only line came with a foam noodle and the line floats as well, I never saw one that didn't. But when your turning around to get someone, and you get distracted and lose sight of the rope and float over it, you'll suck it up quick. Or when you let someone else drive and they don't bring their A-game it happens. That's how it happened with me, I was on the knee board my buddy swung back to pick me up, and he was idling around to get the line to me and I had my back to the boat (looking for the rope) and he turned and ran over the rope, it's like a blink of the eye fast. Hence my comment--Keep your head in the game. You can tow the line when someone falls off and take a wide loop and bring the line back over the skier and let them grab the line. Hey, accidents happen, carry a sharp knife. I had NO knife, just a pair of side cutters, the current pushing me and 45-50 minutes of hacking and holding my breath in dark water. That was a $70 8 section mainline down in the trash. I could have bought a replacement line but the handle got sucked up into the lawn mower a few days later.:cuss: :banghead:
