Finding or resetting password on MPEM programmer

So I posted a couple weeks back about an MPEM programmer that my girl scored for me at an estate sale to use on my GTX. No manual or info to operate it was included, but I talked to Karl about it and ended up finding a manual for it online. The last hurdle is I don't have the password necessary to use it, which is apparently pre-programmed by Seadoo.

There is a phone number that comes up on the programmer for password retrieval, but when I called the recording asked for a dealer 6 digit code and no amount of key pad prompting would get me past it.

Anyone have any experience or alternative ideas on how to find or reset the password.

Thanks,

Rob

Rob, I have been looking high and low and can't get the information to unlock the password. I talked to a buddy of mine that owned a seadoo dealer ship and said seadoo won't release the pass word because it is a security thing and with the password you could unlock and change mpem,s and the workings of the lanyards for illegal purposes. He also told me that only a authorized seadoo dealer is authorized to use and or have in possession a programmer. I'll keep you posted if I get any more information. It sounds like it might just be a cool looking paper weight.

Thanks Karl. Please do let me know if you find out anything else on it. I guess I could always unload it on ebay or to my local Seadoo dealer. Seems ashame to let it sit and collect dust if I can't use it.

Kinda feels like selling the rescued lamb back to the slaughterhouse tho. :(

I know what you mean...It's kinda hard to pry any info from my local seadoo dealer...he keeps telling me" it's not for the general public to be using". I told him it was for me, and he said he might be able to do something if I bought it in...He called my bluff and I told him I'd get back to him when I got a chance. So much for my poker face. :ack:
