So I bought this thing over 2 weeks ago, picked it up this past monday from the dealer, and this weekend I am going camping at the lake. I will get to ride it all weekend. :hurray:

Rear Deck Battery Access
One difference from the early 2010 models is the groove cut around the rear access panels. This helps solve the issues the 2010s had with water entering through here.

Looking into hull where driver would sit
The hull has a lot more open space than I expected. I am used to working on a GSX Limited, which has none.

The last "NEW" ski I bought was a left over 2000 Yamaha XL760. (in 2001) People talk about new car smell... but nothing beats the smell of new fiberglass and oil. (Congrats on the new ski)

Where you going to ride? I'm planing on going to ride on Sunday.

Saturday, I'm going to take my RZR out, and ride some trails.

Congrats on the new toy!!! Man, that is one sick ski. You're gonna have a BLAST on that thing!

Very very nice!!!

I am going to be at Shenango Lake.

I think you would love the place. The Army Corps of Engineers built an ATV area with lots of trails for your RZR. And of course you have the lake for your water toys.

I would love to go up there... but I have to be at my folks house (in Ligoneir) at 5 pm for my Mom's B-day dinner. And since it's 2.5 hr's from there... I guess I'll have to just play out at Loyalhanna lake.

The wife hates both places we normally go... so I def would like to hook up and get out there.

WOW!!

For being a big ski, it feels like it turns on a dime. And the hole shot in sport mode is awesome!!!

I only managed to get a little over 3 hours on it this weekend. The weather wasn't exactly cooperating very well on Saturday.

I did my best to break it in properly, but it was hard to resist the full power the computer would let me have. From 0-2 hours, it was limited to 7500 RPMs. Between 2-3 hours I was getting 7540-7580 RPMs. And then, on my very short ride from my camp to the loading dock to put the skis away late Sunday afternoon, the computer let me have almost up to 8000 RPMS.

I made sure I did not sustain WOT for more than a few seconds. Most of what I did was just cruise around at different RPM ranges and performed controlled and smooth accelerations and decelerations. I tried to keep the RPMs at less than 3/4 as well and didn't stay at one range for very long either.

I can't wait to be able to ride it like I want to.

Also, one cool feature I did not know it had was a built in fuel flow gauge. Now I will be able to easily figure out it's best cruising speed. I will post numbers when I record them, most likely on my Fuel consumption thread.

If you don't mind me asking... What was the final out-the-door price on the TX?

I ended up selling both of my yami's but have been absolutely SWAMPED with work the past few months (and just found out i'm going to be doing a 5 month international assignment "some time next year")... so i will just be using the challenger this year (if it ever comes back from pittsburgh watercraft)

I paid $12,733 for it. Since it was out of state, I didn't pay tax until I registered it.

I will eventually purchase the B.E.S.T.extended warranty for it.

Mine are new, so well within the coverage.

Thanks, will look into it and see if it is worth the value...

The dealer I bought this from was offering the Seadoo B.E.S.T. 4 year extended warranty for $1100. My local dealer is at about $1400 but I will probably get it from them since they will be doing the work if needed.

This would get you a full 5 years under warranty with a $50 deductible after the first year.

Yep... it's best to shop around for a "Factory" extended warranty. Sometimes, you can get them for almost half the price if you call around.

that look sweet. lots of fun i bet i have never got to ride one of the new ones yet let us know what you think of it. FREAKIN HUGE THOUGH that things gottta way a half a ton

It's about 1000 Lbs with fuel, oil, and coolant. My 4 passenger Genesis doesn't even weight that much.

4-strokes have taken us into crazy speed ranges, but they are twice as heavy as their 2-stroke counterparts.
