Finally installed a LinQ system on my GTI 2018. Since it is still under warranty, the dealer installed it for me. They charged me 30 minutes of time. I bought the weatherproof bag (a rigid box with seals). I intend to bring my pro camera with me on some rides to photography wildlife (I am not talking about the kind that takes the sun on a boat or pontoon...). Of course, I just fit the camera in there to show the actual space but it will be in a padded bag inside the box. It is permitted to fit 22 pounds inside the box. For the other box (the non rigid one, it is 5 pounds and although it must be splash proof, it is not waterproof).
The only drawback I can see is to board the ski from the back when leaving the beach. I'll find out on the next ride.
