So I just bought a 06 Seadoo challenger 180 Super charged as the guy i bought it from just rebuilt the supercharger, New oil, new plugs as the first time i took it out for a spin on the lake i noticed the RPM was revving at max at 8000 RPM is that normal or is that bad im scared im going to blow the engine or is that normal? what should it be revving at? is anything wrong or what should I do to fix it?

Also should the Coolant Be flushed? how often? what kind of coolant does it take?
What oil does this take?
What fuel should be used in this boat? premium 91 octane or regular 87 octane gas is fine in Canada ?

whats your thoughts and opinions thanks in advance.

So with the 215hp rotax, i only put in supreme gas. If i start filling it with regular, the engine will run vary rough and it take 2-3 tanks to get it back to normal.

As for the 8000rpm, that is my experience is normal for a 215hp engine (same as my rxt).

For the oil, i put in Bombardier XPS 4-stroke synthetic blend oil.

as for the coolant, it depends. Ill let other guys with more experience comment on that one.

cheers,

Mike

8000 rpm at wot is good. They are designed to do it all day. Coolant is regular anti freeze. Mine has the yellow green type, however I haven't checked the manual to see if the type matters

I just did my coolant on my rxt, so for coolant it just said not to mix. So I chose to put some Prestone 50/50.

Looks to work well. If you have any other questions let us know.
