Hello everyone!
I'd like to thank everyone in advance for taking a moment to read this posting in helping me to troubleshoot this serious issue that I'm having. It is serious to me because I take my 2005 Seadoo RXT SuperCharged (117 hrs) about 30 miles out to sea alone for deep-sea fishing and it's imperative for me that I always have my vessel in tip top shape.
I last took out my RXT in August and prior to launching that day in August, it was working fantastically! I launched out of Long Beach California and trekked about 50 miles to Catalina Island. Upon arriving at the island and fishing my first spot I mistakenly idled over a patch of seaweed that got sucked in through the grate. Seconds later, the engine cut out and I had to make several attempts and getting the RXT to restart; it reached a point where I had made so many attempts that the battery was nearly out of juice! But luckily the last one did it and I was able to restart the RXT.
After the successful restart the RXT began holding at idle with a very low rpm to the point where it was dying to cut out and I had to continuously give the engine slight throttle to ensure that it would not cut out again ( not to mention I was very low on battery power being that I was making several attempts to restart the engine). In addition to the aforementioned, upon making an attempt to accelerate the engine rev'd up for a second and then bogged. Any attempt made at accelerating resulted in the engine bogging and nearly cutting out. Any attempts made at accelerating slowly/gradually, the engine will hold rpm but will not reach top speed.
Now let's try to rule out a few things off the bat, since I took the watercraft to a Independent mechanic who currently performing a full maintenance and has yet to connect the watercraft to the B.U.D.S. unit to see if he gets any messages/errors:
Impeller is in excellent shape
Wear Ring is in excellent shape
There is no evidence of seaweed/kelp attached to the undercarriage and there wasn't shortly after I was able to restart the RXT out that sea that same day.
No evidence of rust or corrosion anywhere on the watercraft
Compression was checked in all three cylinders and is great.
Supercharger was rebuilt using the SeaDoo kit 30 hours ago
Thanks for taking a moment to read this posting and to anyone helping me out with replies, please provide a laundry list of areas for troubleshooting which may be suspect. Please be specific with explanations.
Thank you!
