I ran Kawasaki's stand ups for 6 Years as a pro in the 440ss 550Mod and open class in the same day... that's 6 races plus practice. I was know as the hole shot king....or the fiberglass expert...lol I sponsored 2 x2's in the mod class. I sponsored 5 racers including myself. I miss those days. I quite at age 35... the 18 year olds were catching up...I raced 125, 250 and open class Motocross, sponsored by a local Kawasaki shop in upstate N.Y. also till I was 18...
Now I settle for jumping waves in my 200speedster...8' at 55+
I was 160# and did doubles everyday ...run 5 miles lift weights, before work. Come home (I owned a house on lake front) and ride closed course buoy's for 2 hrs., go run 5 miles, lift weights.... I'm 48 now and weigh 172# still work out 3 x a week...light duty of course.
i am only 33 but we are a lot alike. i live on a river and workout everyday. had a couple of bad boat wrecks so the knees cant take the running anymore.
Kawasaki paid for boats...Local shops paid for all mod engines and I made about $20,000.00 a year in parts I resold in my race repair shop in my custom vehicle business. I got paid in parts credit and winning cash...at events. It was more for fun...I had 15 employees in my Custom Vehicle business. I own a custom vehicle business now here in Florida, and a Certified Car Dealer for mobility equipment vehicles.
i never had a real fast street bike but ive had a few bikes. the last straw was a patch of diesel fuel on a 2000 kawasaki zr-7( the naked one not the ninja). i sold it and no more street bikes since. couldn't get over the thought of my wife being on the bike with me.
The last Bike I had was a 1983 super bike by Honda ...It cranked MPH in a 10 second 1/4...stright 4 cylinder....I used to scrap the foot pegs off it in the corners...very heavy bike. I worked for Honda as well.
