Looking into the extended warranty on my 08' Challenger. What should I be looking to pay for a 3 year extension? Anyone mind sharing what they paid would be awesome.

Extended Warranty

They offered an 800.00 deduction in place of the 5 Year Extended that they gave at the Toronto Boat Show.

Lemon?

What I have always looked into in extending a warranty is the fact, what problems have I had thus far and would spending this money, be justified.

If you buy a lemon, then yes, extending the warranty is a good idea. But, anything you have had covered or repaired since you bought the first warranty, is still actually covered even after this one runs out.

For instance, if you had problems with the slip washers that you used the warranty several times, then it expired. One month later, the propblem happened again, by law, they have to once again, repair that problem because it'll fall into a category that is like a lemon problem.

I've also said, if you buy something and for the first 2 years, you've had no problems and it's ran good, why spend the extra money that you may never use. If you buy a motor or something along those lines, if it lasts under hard riding for a season or two, that means you've bought something that was built with integrity and will probably last forever.

My dad still has his 1962 Chevy that has over 300,000 thousand miles on it and has never done anything but change the oil and do the simple maintenance. So, he got a good motor......... I hope that helps you understand when it's time to extend, and time to realize you got a good, dependable motor.....

I bought the extended warranties on both my GTX Limited water craft. Before they published the 'fix it' on the screen to the front carb, I blew both engines. Without the extended warranty I'd be out about 5 grand for new motors.

My 08 Sportster boat blew the blower at 12 hours. We purchased the extended warranty, and the service package. We tend to run the 'toys' hard.

I am sitting with the same dilema, i purchased my GTX's at the end of june with a 1 year warranty on them, i wouldnt mind extending mine for 2 years, but i dont know how much. I ahve tried to call BRP's Wisonsin number, but all i get is a message telling me to call back later. Great customer service...

On the Sportster boat I think the extended warranty was around $1200. This included all annual maintenance and service costs for 5 years.

My 06 Challenger came with a two year extension through Star-Sport, the original owner paid $600. for the warranty, that was over three years ago, but $1,200 now would mean it doubled in that time...seems a bit high.
(btw, my extra two years came and went w/o a single claim, boat has been bullet proof...oops, shouldn't have said that I guess)

I had the same isue with calling customer service. However I pushed both my Sea-Doos hard, and they ran great... I had them checked out and hooked up to the BUDS twice with no issues found.. So I'm thinking I may be ok..

1 year $ 899.00
2 year $ 1399.00
3 year $ 1699.00
4 year $ 1899.00
