Hello forum members,
I have a 2005 Speedster SC 200 185hp. I've read many posts regarding the Sodium Filled Valves on the 2004-2006 4tech engines. All the posts mainly focus on the 215hp engines. Should I be concerned with my 185hp engines? Has anyone had this problem with these 185hp engines? I assume it is more common on the 215hp because they produce more power. Any advice with this issue will be greatly appreciated. I have had the Superchargers rebuilt with the updated kits.

Thanks,
Ed

The answer is here. He is replacing the valves in the same setup jetski.

I would not risk it. VERY expensive if on drops. It can cost you an engine in worst case scenarios.

He is not kidding about being expensive on drops. I had a rod break and kill my engine. 5k later, I am doing the work myself and will not get a warranty on the engine.

It is a risk or cost. Just depends on how much cost you want. Do it now for a grand or so it later for 3 grand if it drops a valve.

Some never change them and all is good. But,,,, that comes with a gamble.

Thanks xintersecty and Coastiejoe for the responses. I guess I will get the exhaust valves replaced during the winter down time. Do you recommend any specific brand of valves?
