Took of the exhaust pipe from the manifold to change the starter. Now when I put back together it is leaking water. Is my exhaust clamp possibly no good. No gaskets to replace. Where did I go wrong. 2004 GTX wakeboard

might help I am not sure, I heard these must be water tight....how about that red sealant seadoo sells for that, goop it up like it was from the factory?

Was going to try that if could not get it to stop leaking.. Have ordered a new exhaust clamp for $45. and just hope I'm not waisting my money.

I am not a seadoo or pwc tech at all for that matter....but I know my exhaust has never been off and from the factory that red stuff was all around by that clamp, I asked seadoo and they told me that is to make it seal.............

There is a copper ring that is smashed in there... make sure it is in there and put a layer of red RTV high temp silicon on each side... clamp it down and let it sit 24 hours or more!!!!

Thanks for the advice. I guess we thought it was the clamp not fitting properly, and the shop manual does not show the use of sealant. I am going ahead with ordering the new clamp and will use the sealant as you guys have suggested. Thanks again
