Borrowed my brothers 96 gtx, 3rd day on the lake the craft felt like it was under a heavy load, stopped to see what was going on and the thing was fillling up with water fast! To make a dramatic story short, got a tow back to shore and found that the exhaust outlet was melted, the exhaust hose and clamp were off. What would cause this? what cools the exhaust?
thanks pwc newb.

P.S. Pulled the spark plugs, cylinders are full of water, turned the engine over blew the water out now what? maybe some WD-40?
Since I borrowed it, I feel I am responsible to get it fixed....:(:ack:

It could be that one or the water cooling lines was cracked or pluged and caused the pwc to fill with water. I would re install the exhaust and check all the cooling lines. Use of wd-40 in the engine is a good idea. Get it started as quickly as you can so it won't get rusted inside and cause more problems. Keep turning it over to get the water out, than install fresh plugs and get it fired up. Keep us posted on you progress.

Thanx for the reply KustomKarl

I put the plugs back in yesterday eve. The thing started right up:hurray: As for my exhaust cooling issue, I went to brp and looked up a diagram, traced some tubing to a regulator of sorts screwed into the top of the muffler. I pushed the spring clip back and removed the cap and found there is some broken parts in there,( pieces of a spring jammed into a diaphram.) So I'm thinking this could be my problem:confused:
