Borrowed my brothers 96 gtx, 3rd day on the lake the craft felt like it was under a heavy load, stopped to see what was going on and the thing was fillling up with water fast! To make a dramatic story short, got a tow back to shore and found that the exhaust outlet was melted, the exhaust hose and clamp were off. What would cause this? what cools the exhaust?
thanks pwc newb.

Just noticed this was the boat section, SORRY!

Water regulator....

Usually the water regulator cools them. There are a few places of injection. One at the tuned pipe and one at the back, where you'll find the water reglaor valve. Some models also have another on the resonater.

had same prob

take boat to the lake and open the motor hood and run it around. look for water lines that have melted or disconnected. i had a water line on the manifold come off and it caused the rubber hose from pipe to muffler to blow a hole in it. any hose supply warehouse will carry the marine hose in bulk. just remove hose and take it with you. looking bout $4.00 buy 2 and keep spare in boat...:)
