I have 96 speedster with the soft plugs in the same place on the exhaust manifolds rusted out. any ideas how to fix them? There doesn't seem to be a lot of water pressure there, maybe JB weld?

For the rest of the season, I'll give JB weld a try. Yes, welding in new plugs is the right way to go. Yes I am interested in getting a couple of plugs from you. These plugs on the inside behind a hose fitting that goes to the head, do they have problems with the other ones?

All the lower "plugs" will leak. When you pull it, grind them all and weld them all. I believe there are three that are a concern. So order enough plugs from Racer when you are ready to do the job.

JB weld will work, but it is not ideal, because it will not expand and contract at the same speed as the metal. If you need to patch the hole permanently, you can use the pictured product. This product dries fast and becomes very durable rubber. I have patched fuel tanks, slashed side walls on tires, radiators, etc. Works great, and its indestructible. Be careful though, once it dries it is REALLY hard to get off of things. You have to cut the stuff off with a knife, and then use a chisel to scrape the rest off. I suggest that you use a metal disk, and glue it in place with this stuff, then smother the whole area with this stuff like a big patch. It is super strong, and will flex a little with temperature changes.
