I understand that I need to flush the exhaust out with my garden hose after every ride. Since the flush pipe is located deep into the jet tunnel (for lack of a better word) many people have suggested that I go to Wal-Mart and get a quick disconnect hose coupling for it and screw the female side of the coupling into the flush pipe and leave it there! My question is, can I leave the female side of the quick disconnect hose connector attached to the flush pipe at all times? Will it interfere with anything while the boat is being used? It sure doesn't look like it interferes with anything. Sure would save time and make the flush out easier if I could leave it connected...... Can I?

Mine has been since brand new, with no apparent issues. Now granted, I only have 18 hours on a 155hp Speedster 150 so your experience may be different.

I wouldn't. I have an '06 challenger with the same motor as yours, and I just looked at the connector that came with my boat. The inner diameter is smaller than the diameter of the connection to the boat. This means that, if left connected to the boat, the connector would restrict water flow into your open loop cooling system. The open loop cooling system cools your exhaust system, so you may end up by a) melting some of the plastics in the exhaust or b) triggering the exhaust gas temperature sensor (egts), forcing you to 'limp' home. Also note that the egts is checked before you can start your boat, so if it has been triggered, you will not be able to start your boat until the exhaust cools enough...
