The size you used looks fine.
Ok Great, Just another question with the accelerator small jet is this meant to be completely clear as when I look through it, it appears to have some little thing inside, I have tried to blow this out and also poke a very tiny wire through it and it still seems to be in there so I was wondering is that part of the jet.

It's a small orifice size but it should be clear through, nothing blocking it.

I have pulled the other carb apart to rebuild it and have found the small jet in the accelerator pump hose there is no jet inside, does this matter if i leave it out, or do i need to find one some where, (wouldn't know where to start looking for one to buy)

There is only one and it should be placed immediately in the line where it leaves the a-pump. There is not one for each carb.

Does the 787 in that boat have one or two carbs. I’m not that familiar with boat but thought all 787 engines were two carbs. One jet per two carbs. That is one jet per engine.

I ran mine without the jet for a whole season. The only thing I noticed was a quicker direct return to idle when letting off the throttle. I read the whole purpose of that jet was actually to prevent a stall if the operator dumped the throttle from high throttle position or WOT.

Okay thanks for your reply I do appreciate it I guess I could try without running out however I am carrying out maintenance and the other one is in fitted in the new piping on the other motor and the other thing I'm guessing it doesn't matter which way this is put in the pipe as it's just a reducer right.
