Thank God for NAFTA, huh?
I just discovered my 10yr old wal-mart everstart 1000cca MAXX 65-N is finally kaput a couple days ago, went to load test it and found the internal connection between cells had let go (broke or corroded dunno which). Otherwise that battery would still be fine, it always held charge very well and load tested great. I've had batteries last much longer, so kinda disappointed, but will probably get another just like it and keep less water inside, it was a little too far above the plates and the buss bars were covered, that might explain the rapid corrosion....
This time I'll try to get the MAXX 65-S, harder to find that one but maybe I get lucky.

My warranty is completely expired, last year!
"Warranty
The Maxx 65N battery carries one of Wal-Mart's best warranties. The battery has a free replacement period of three years. During that time, should your battery fail to hold or maintain a charge, you can have it replaced for free with supporting documentation. After the free-replacement period, the battery has an additional six years prorated for a total of 108 month warranty (nine years). Warranties are subject to verification and voided with physical damage. The paper used on the warranty receipts is thermal paper which means it will blacken when exposed to heat. Keep the warranty paperwork separate from the battery in a safe location."
