This is my first time at this site as a member at least I have been able to pick up a lot of info from it over the past couple of weeks so I thought I might as well join. Anyway this is my problem, I have a 96 speedster with the twin 720's one engine runs excellent the other not so much. After a test run with it the one engine would start up fine run fine for a bit then just quit after several tries I decided to call it a day. When I got home I checked the plugs they were fine so I took the air box and filter of and restarted the engine, the forward cylinder was fine but the rear was back firing through the carb just at idle. My question is this what causes flaming in the carb? Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Ok it's a day later and I found the problem, there's no compression at the rear cylinder, it turns out the piston is shot as well as rings.
