Hello all,

I replaced my wear rings on both the engines, but now the right engine wont start. Initially when i pressed the start button, i would hear it trying to start. Like a turning sound. I tried it a few more times, and now when i press the start button, i hear nothing.

I have the battery connected to a tender, and now its fully charge. The left engine starts up just fine.

Any sugguestions

It is probably either the starter or the the solenoid. You can jumper the solenoid in the e-box to see if the starter spins. If it does, it is the solenoid, if not, it could be either the solenoid or starter.

Either way, I see a starter rebuild in your future.

Pull the pump, then try and start it. The impeller is probably tight in the new wear ring. Always go back to the last thing you did.

Two things,,, Do NOT attempt to start your engine with the tender attached to your battery UNLESS it is 2.5 amps or lower. You will smoke the MPEM and they are very expnsive. 2nd, I am with USAF, if it probably a washer issue in the impeller. There is a pinch washer that is the normal cause of a no start after replacing the wear ring or impeller.

I was not starting the engine with the ender attached. I just recharged the entire battery last night, and now even i press the start button. I only hear a click and not even the quarter turn i heard before. Do u think i might have burnt the starter by repetedly trying to start the engine. I removed the spark plugs to and tried to turn the engine over, but go the same click sound.

Do u think i might have burnt the starter while trying to start the engine repeatedly?

Was going to replace the thrust washer and see if the engine crank

There is a chance that you did lose the starter and or have a bad connection. However, since you did work in the pump area, you need to remove or loosen it as it was the last place you worked. It is just the natural order to do things in at this point.

With the plugs removed, can you turn it over by hand (or with a little help from a strap wrench)? If so, your pump probably isn't bound up. If you can't, like Coastiejoe said, start with the pump, as it was the last item touched.

When u mean turn it over with the hand, u mean remove the PTW flywheel cover and see it if rotates right? Or am i missing something?

Thanks

Yep. Whatever you need to do to get to the shaft or the rear of the Hime. With plugs removed it should turn very easy.

Clarify please? What shaft did you pull?

And, even if the pump is out, which I am not clear about based on what your last post was, you may still be ok.

The bendix can get stuck into the flywheel and the motor will NOT move.. This is common when there is a low volt issue.

But,,, as noted above, unless the pump has been pull, you are wasting your time.
