I have a 1997 seadoo challenger 1800. It worked great a couple weeks after i had both engines replaced. When i went to take it out this past weekend one on the engines would idol and run fine up to 4500 rpm then stall. Would anyone know what the problem is. I m thinking i need to clean the carbs, i was thinking about switching the carbs and seeing what happens.

It could be the carbs might have crap in them. inside is a small filter that would cause this to happen. The carburetors do not interchange, so just pull them apart and clean them. If you get in a bind give us a shout. If you want you could join as a "premium member". As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and privet use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor cleaning and rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances. Click on the "Seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for more details. If you need any help or get in a jam, we are always here to answer your questions too.

Thanks for the response Karl. I just put 2500 into this machine and i am hoping for a solution as easy as cleaning the carbs. I am new to this and appreciate all the help i can get.

The manual might be a big help when it comes time to do the cleaning... You can print off single pages and use them, than throw them away when you done. It works for me all the time...if you get in a jam we'll be here.

I will most likely do that. One other thing i noticed was that the spark plug was dry and had a rusted look to it were the other engine, that was working well, looked dark and had some residue on it. All 4 Spark plugs were changed before going out.
