was woundering if anyone else with twin 4 tech engines have a 300 rpm difference between engines when there over 30 mph. On my 10h service they said it was suppose to be that way but I don't know why it would be, I think they dident want to mess with it. Also how do you put pics on here

Slide, mine does this too and I dont think its supposed to. My boat is at the dealer now and when I get it back I intend on making an adjustment. On mine the starboard engine is about 400 RPMs higher than the port and any throttle setting other than Idle.

On my 2008 200speedster/310hp, the rpm's are perfectly in sync all the way up the throttle range, unless there is a cross wind and I need to add more to one engine or the other to compensate.

Adjustment

Slide,

I dont have a manual but I was told on this forum that there is an adjustment on one of the throttle bodies. Cant remember which engine though. I will check when I get my boat back.

I have the 230 wake and it has the single throtle lever so I can't adjust them on the fly

The is a manual adjustment for the starboard engine. The is a dial that you can adjust. it under the silver plate you see in the pic. You'll have to have someone drive while you adjust it.

Check to see if both engines are getting full throttle.
Push the throttle lever all the way forward and then, at the throttle body on each engine, check that they are both resting against the throttle stop. If you can move one further open, you will have to adjust it. If they are both resting against the throttle stop, then your engine that has the higher RPM has a pump that is cavitating. You have a slightly damaged impeller and/or wear ring. If you repair the impeller and wear ring, the RPM will drop to normal and you will gain some top speed.

I have the same problem with my 230 wake it just had the ten hour service and this problem just cAme about. WhT causes it? And does it cause damage? Can it be fixed?

bought my 310 hp utopia used. had 7200 left engine 7350 right engine.pulled both pumps sent impellers to impros wrote rpms on each.one wear ring was grooved, one impeller was nicked. boat had run 52 mph.impros balanced and tuned to 7300 rpm each side. now they are exact.have not done top speed comparison because conditions have been so different.(six kids in boat wakeboarding with all their junk)

someone suggested it may be because of the oil levels in the engines. ifthey are not prefectly equal we may get different RPMS. has anyone experienced this?
