Engine rebuild

I have a 1999 GTX RFI. The other day the engine seized. The crank wouldn’t turn. I put a pipe wrench to it and it moved. I then started it. Which it did. The engine is making a lot of rattling noise from the bottom. I was told I need a complete engine rebuild. I know nothing about this kind of stuff. I just bought this seedoo. The guy obviously ripped me off.
Would anyone be able to direct me to an engine rebuilder in the Toronto area.

I've rebuilt several. In fact, I keep a rebuilt one on the shelf for swapping out for the next rebuild. Just pull the engine, remove lower case and cyls to see exactly what the issue is and fix it yourself. Get the manual and doo it, otherwise you will learn what boat stands for (bring out another thousand).

I wish I was Mechanically inclined. I would just probably damage it even more. But you are right it’s expensive I’ve been quoted 2000 just rebuild

The difficult part for you will be removing the flywheel and the PTO. If you have the proper tools it isn't that bad but for people that don't do mechanical work it gets a bit more expensive. You can build that engine yourself for $800 easy. Clean up and assembly prep is a real pain for me. I'd rather pay someone to do the engines but delivery is always an issue and you have little control over that. Good Luck !!
