When running either at idle or at high speed, the engine shuts down completely. It reacts as though the Ignition switch was pressed to shut it down. When the control levers are returned to neutral & Idle it always immediately re-starts. There seems to be no relations ship of this problem relative to smooth water or bouncing over wakes. This is a very random occurrence - anywhere from a minute or so to a half hour of running. Buying a new lanyard which was programmed by a Sea Ray dealer had no effect on the problem. I have checked all of the connections and fuses in the MPEM section. I am suspecting a malfunction in the ignition switch but have no knowledge of how to confirm it. I am the original owner. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
