i just bought a seadoo utopia 205 - 2006; the previous owner said
it was all winterized, he said he hooked up a hose to the motor
and ran antifreeze thru it, which reading thru the posts on here
is a good thing, i also read about fogging the motor, what is this?
and how do you go about it? can this be done after running antifreeze thru it?
boat has twin 155's
any help and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
i am a new seadoo owner and new to this site

If it's been done... park it until spring.

BUT... "Fogging" the engine is spraying fogging oil, into the engine while it's running to make sure all the internal surfaces are coated with oil, to prevent rust. Along with that, you spray it into each of the spark plug holes.

Once that is done... do not start the engines. If you do... it will need to be done again.

If you run the boat, in the water, or with a garden hose... the winterazation will have to be completely re-done. The fresh water, will flush out all the anti-freeze.

thanks for the info Tony,
all he said was done was the a/f, so i will have to do the fogging,
what kind of oil do use? special stuff or would wd-40 work?
is there a specific spot to spray in? or just thru the air intake?
because of the twin engines do i need some to do both engines at once,
or can i do one at a time?

For the 155's you'll first pull off the plastic engine covers, dipstick comes out first and the covers lift off.

Then you'll need to remove the fuel injector bar by removing the two reverse torx bolts holding each bar. Gently lift the bar from it's rubber sealed injector inlets. Spray Bombadier Lube or another aeresol fogging oil into each injector, turn the motor over once or twice (do not start the engine or you'll be starting over with the antifreeze fill per DocH note above).

thanks for the info,

was wondering if there are any manuals(owners, maintenance, stoarage)on the boat here??
just got a prem. membership and tried loking in that section
and used the search function and didn't find any for a 2006 205 utopia,
with twin 155's, is there any boat or year of utopia that would be compatible
with the 06
thanks

thanks, found the manual,
just want to make sure i am going to fog the engine correctly,
i need to pull of fuel rail and spark plugs and spray fogging oil
in ( how much 1- 5 second blast, a couple of 5 second blasts??)
is there anywhere else that needs fogging oil sprayed in?
should i have the throttle in WOT or nuetral?
thanks

Do 15 seconds each cylinder. Doesn't matter if its in blasts or 15 seconds straight. Seadoo sells a "Storage Oil" which states to spray for 15 seconds. (Not sure if this is just Bomabadier Lube in a different can).

Not for your engines, no.

This should not matter. Per the manual, you should have someone hold fully open the throttle bell crank on the engine while you crank the engine for a few revolutions. The idea is to prevent fuel from being injected into the cylinders which will lessen the positive effect of the lube you just sprayed. Cranking the engine over is required to spread that lube around the cylinders.

I bought both the fogging/storage oil and the XPS lube. I sprayed both onto my bench top and they look and feel suspiciously similar. Also I bought a spray bomb of white lithium lubricant and it looks and feels quite similar to the other two (but less than half the price). In any case I now have 3 spray bombs that should do me a few years.
